On This Day in 1985, They Found the Titanic

On this day in 1985, the wreck of the Belfast built RMS Titanic was found by a joint US-French expedition lead by Robert Ballard. In my new book For the Love of Being Irish, a magnificently illustrated A-Z of Ireland, (illustrations by Mark Anderson) the letter “T” is for Titanic. In this homage to my homeland, most letters of the alphabet are represented by some interesting facts and a limerick except: the letter “T”, “I” for Independence and “F” for Famine which I deemed to be sensitive topics not best illustrated by a lyrical limerick.
